QNAP Systems, Inc. (Quality Network Appliance Provider) is a Taiwanese company that specializes in network-attached storage (NAS) appliances and related equipment. Founded in 2004 as a spin-off from IEI Integration Corporation, QNAP designs and manufactures NAS devices used for file sharing, backup, virtualization, and media serving. The company also produces network video recorders and networking equipment.
QNAP NAS devices run QTS, QNAP’s proprietary Linux-based operating system, and are managed through a web interface. They support standard network file protocols (SMB, NFS, AFP) and offer a range of add-on applications through QNAP’s app center.
