Raspberry Pi is a family of small, affordable single-board computers developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a UK non-profit. Originally designed to promote computer science education, Raspberry Pi boards have become widely used in hobbyist projects, industrial applications, and home automation. They run Linux-based operating systems, support standard interfaces (USB, Ethernet, GPIO, HDMI), and are capable of running real server workloads at very low power.

The Compute Module variants (such as the CM5) are system-on-module versions designed for integration into custom carrier boards, rather than standalone use.

The lab servers are Raspberry Pi CM5 modules. Each runs Linux and hosts one or more Docker-based services. Hosts include n8n.iot, homeassistant.iot, and others. See the Home Network system for network context.
